I have been working with ceramics for a few months, and am still focusing my time in understanding the material. In my experiments with clay I am most interested in the potential for color, and the unknown outcome. You can plan for a piece to be a certain way, but that doesn't by any means suggest that is what will happen. The nature of the material dictates what it will be, I can only be excited by what it decides to become.

ceramic This piece was a simple exploration in form. Being my first experiment in clay, I was interested in seeing how a form that I have been preoccupied by would translate, and what kind of evolution would happen as I learned the parameters of this medium.
